The "Energy and Environment” doctorate provides multidisciplinary skills and knowledge, highly integrated, in order to develop professional figures orientated to the world of research, business, government institutions, national and international, and cooperation; this figure can deal, with adequate cultural base, the challenge of energy development, in harmony with the environment and man, in an international context that sees the industrialized countries in the same way as emerging and developing countries. This objective is achieved through four training paths that, while differing in some specific contents, have a common base of knowledge and methodology that ensures a strong correlation among the different cultural sectors involved in the doctorate. 1) The path in "Energy and Technical Physics", offers three different training programs linked to Energy, Technical Physics , and Nuclear Engineering, that produce a highly skilled figures able to perform research activities, to manage and design technological innovation with the primary goal of improved efficiency in the systems and components, traditional and / or innovative, use in the conversion, distribution and use of energy, and to develop methodologies, tools and technologies for the control of the environment, natural and constructed, in the transport systems. 2) The path in "Sustainable Development and International Cooperation" provides two different training programs, that respectively produces two professional profiles: expert in "Energy and environmental technologies for development", a profile that will be able to understand the environmental dynamics, to develop original models for analysis and to propose sustainable solutions to energy and environmental problems taking place in industrialized, emerging and developing countries; and in "Cooperation for Sustainable Development", an expert that will work through the system of UN agencies and other international organizations, governmental and private, to support cooperation between the peoples of the planet for a sustainable development,  both expendable in public and private research organizations. 3)The path in "Energy saving and distributed micro-generation" provides figures able to design, build and test the structure, management and services of a distributed network of consumers and producers of electricity and thermal energy (RDE). 4)The path in "Habitat Space and Remote Sensing for Energy and the Environment" offers two different training programs, the first in "Space Habitats" and the second in "Remote Sensing for Energy and Environment ". Both training programs are characterized not only by an advanced knowledge in the field of Energy and Technical Physics also by physics of soil and water dynamics, space vehicles and outer habitats equipment and flight dynamics. Both training programs provide a highly skilled professional able to perform activities of high-profile in research, management, design and technological innovation. The first training program trains professionals able to address and resolve issues related to: • the environment in which man works in outer space, with particular attention to the physiological effects, safety and comfort in spacecraft and outer stations • the development of components, systems, materials for the production of energy in the outer environment for the spacecraft and / or for use on the ground. The second training course will train professionals able to address and resolve issues related to: • observation from space of the environment in which we live and the impacts due to detections, transportation and final use of energy sources.
